The Region Team has been working on planning our 2022 ARMA RLC. Now that we have a “Save the Date” created, wanted to get this out to all Chapter Leaders so you can hopefully join us in Omaha, Nebraska.

The dates of the RLC will be July 10-12, 2022.

And, we have the great opportunity to have up to 3 Chapter Leaders attend from each Chapter at no cost to you/your Chapter – FREE. More information can be found in the link in the attachment.

Important ARMA Announcement for Chapter Leaders

Dear ARMA Chapter Leaders,

First and foremost, thank you for being one of our esteemed chapter leaders for our 89 chapters worldwide. You truly power our association, providing personal connections and learning opportunities for all who work toward effective records and information management. Your commitment and dedication to ARMA is immeasurable and truly appreciated.

I am writing today with some important news, which we believe will have a positive impact on your role. Following a year-long review of our organization’s region volunteer structure, the Board of Directors has voted to create a new Chapter Advisory Committee to take the place of the Regional Boards of ARMA. This new Committee will be under the leadership of Christy Walters, the current Canadian Region Director at ARMA International.

As you know the chapters have historically reported into one of our eleven regions throughout North America, Europe and Internationally. We believe this new structure will be beneficial for you, our chapter leaders, who will have more direct communication and accountability with the board of directors, additional volunteer leadership training opportunities and support in your roles as chapter leaders, and increasing the volunteer pipeline which will allow for growth within the ARMA organization.

This new structure will also provide for unified financial management, risk reduction, and add efficiencies with more opportunity for direct financial support of individual chapters. The new Chapter Advisory Committee will also provide guidance and support in identifying, organizing and charter on new chapters, and chapters going into dormancy.

We stay committed to providing our community of 5,000 members worldwide and valued industry and strategic partners with best practices and opportunities for professional development, ongoing education, and networking. We know that networking is the most valued aspect of ARMA membership and should not be limited to geography, so through our new Chapter Advisory Committee we will be able to increase the connection and communication with all the organization’s chapters. We look forward to introducing you to Christy Walters and watch our chapters thrive under her leadership.

ARMA Reimbursement Awards – Deadline August 15

Are you considering or studying for a professional certification?  La ARMA Nostra is accepting applications for their Scholarship Awards through August 15. Reimbursement Awards can be used for any professional certified costs – registration and exam fees.  You can use this to get reimbursed for these fees for certifications such as:

Seeking a self-motivated professional to transform how our client governs its digital information. Based in the firm’s Office of General Counsel, and working closely with the firm’s Information Technology department, the Manager for Information Governance Systems will serve as firm’s lead systems professional for governance of digital information. This professional will lead a team of systems engineers, specialists, and vendors focused on implementing system controls that promote compliance with records retention policies, client confidentiality requirements, data privacy regulations, and information security protections.

It would be preferred to have a bachelor’s degree and law firm experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience with each of the following is also preferred; evaluating, designing & documenting system processes, processing structured & unstructured data for import/export, creating data reports, and managing projects. Ability to analyze and visualize data with spreadsheets, data dashboards and other data reporting tools. Substantive knowledge of information management practices related to records retention, data privacy controls, and user practices that promote cyber security.

Experience with FileTrail records & information governance software, NetDocs document management software, Veritas Enterprise Vault information governance/email management software, Intapp identity & access management software, Aderant case management software along with Microsoft 365 are also all preferred. Experience with SQL databases and Microsoft Power BI is preferred as well.

Save the Date! Virtual Region Leadership Conference, July 15-16

The Great Lakes Region and Midwest Rocky Mountain Region will be joining forces again this year to hold our Region Leadership Conference (RLC). However, we have also added the Southeast Region to the mix – the more the merrier!

We are very close to having the agenda finalized and sponsorship information ready to share with you all.

As more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to get it out to you to share with your Chapters. Remember, this will be a FREE (yes, FREE) event so we can continue to educate our Chapter Leaders on everything ARMA.
